Peter Wolf - Up to No Good

Up to No Good tuli hankittua erehdyksessä. Tarkoitus oli ostaa Jefferson Starshipin ja Grace Slickin kanssa yhteistyötä tehneen, Itävallassa 1952 syntyneen säveltäjä, sovittaja ja muusikko Peter Wolfin soololevy. Käsiini osui kuitenkin aivan toisen, samannimisen herran levy eli J. Geils Bandin entisen solistin järjestyksessä kolmas soolo.

Tämä oli itseasiassa aikoinaan pienen ajan sisällä kolmas vastaava erehdys. Olin jo aiemmin ostanut vinyylinä Peter Wolfin platat "Lights Out" ja "Come As You Are". Johonkin tiettyyn bändiin eli tässä tapauksessa Jefferson Starshipiin hullantuneet saattavat haluta kaikki ne levyt, jotka löyhästikin liittyvät suosikin tuotantoon. Tuo Starshpin Wolf oli sitten tosiaan tuo itävaltalainen herrasmies, mutta ostamieni levyjen Wolf rokkari.

Mutta loppujen lopuksi nämä laulaja Peter Wolfin kolme albumia ovat kerrassaan mahtavaa kuunneltavaa, joskaan mitää varsinaisia hittibiisejä niiltä ei osaa etsiä. Tasaisen varmaa jenkkirokkia, hyvin soitettua, hyvin tuotettua, mutta ei persoonatonta.

Up to No Goodin jälkeen Wolf on tehnyt vielä neljä äänitettä, joista uusin on vuodelta 2010. Sillä hän kipusi jopa listoille pitkän hiljaiselon jälkeen. Tosin Billboardin albumilistan sija 45. ei niin suuria merkitse, mutta onpa tilastonikkareille tärkeä detalji.
